Kauai - Day 1

On Tuesday we got up really early and took a shuttle to the Seattle airport. We then flew to San Francisco and then to Kauai! The island looked really cool and tropical as we flew in. After we landed, we went to the car rental place. They told us that they could upgrade us to a Mustang convertible for just a little bit extra... so we decided it was worth the splurge (people usually splurge on their honeymoon, right?)

I (Tim) was pretty nervous driving the car at first, because it's the only "nice" car that I've ever driven... and also we didn't pay for the extra insurance... but luckily the nervousness wore off after a little while.

The first place that we stayed was the Coral Reef hotel. It was about 20 minutes away from the airport and it was right on the beach.

This place had the best view of the ocean and the best lawn. There were also a TON of wild chickens here! As you might have guessed, one of Penny's favorite things to do here was feeding the chickens.

After we got checked in to our apartment, we decided to walk around town to find something to eat. We decided on a place called Bubba Burger. It was really good! Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Bubba...

  1. I need a ride in a convertible sometime. That definitely seems worth a splurge

  2. only ride one if you have sufficient open roads to cruise upon. Driving a convertible in a city would be pretty lame.

  3. I feel like this post in incomplete, what about the rest of the days?
