CRUISE INSTALLMENT III : GRAND TURK
On our day at sea before grand turk, we got up at 5am and went outside. It was still dark out and no one else was up (except the pizza guy who made us chicken alfredo pizza - yum!) and we were in the middle of a lightning storm, which was pretty cool to watch. Later, we participated in the volleyball tournament and our team won the trophy! Then we watched a guy make an ice sculpture, learned the dance to Gangnam Style, played lots of bean bag toss, went to a comedy show, went to a Thomas Kincade art auction, and watched Les Miserables outside while swimming in the pool. Oh, and we were eating during and in between all those activities...cruises are REALLY unhealthy haha.
Then we got to Grand Turk! This island was probably the most memorable port because it blew my mind the most. The water was so warm and blue and the sand was so powdery! We snorkeled around a bit and walked a mile or two down the beach.
One awesome sandcastle later....we were sunburned. But it wasn't too bad - we just had to be extra careful the rest of the trip. We ate dinner at the fancy restaurant, which probably would've tasted better if we were actually hungry. The food was a little 'looks fancy, but doesn't taste that amazing' with one exception: the melting cake dessert. Mmm!
The day after Grand Turk was another day at sea. There was a Hairy Chest contest as well as a Miss Carnival Breeze contest. Sadly, those were won by the same person. I cant remember much else that we did that day...it was our relaxing day I guess. We got a deck of cards and played outside in the "Adults only quiet area" that I wasn't technically allowed into because I wasn't 21 haha. Giant chess...hottubbing.....more ping pong...more eating. That about sums it up.

I am very intrigued how both hairy chest and Miss Carnival Breeze were won by the same person.
ReplyDeleteAnnaliese: I was waiting for the punch line for that too? Hairy chest and miss carnival breeze.
ReplyDeleteyes, please elaborate on the hairy chest/miss carnival breeze situation. The chocolate melting cakes were our favorite food from our cruise too
ReplyDeleteSome hairy, outgoing guy won the chest contest and then entered the pageant as a joke and ended up getting the most votes. It wasn't really funny so much as disturbing. He wore a dress.
